General store questions
Q: Where are you based?
A: Fife, Scotland, I have no physical store, just a spare room in my house full of model kits.
Q: Why do so many items appear out of stock?
A: Our stock is often broad, not deep, so we have a large number of items, but not many of each item. This is due to our small size and limited storage. If you notice a large number of items going out of stock on the same day, that's typically the result of a scale model or railway show, and we will place a new order that week to replenish stock. Our restock cycle from Japan is normally about 2-3 weeks, with larger orders sometimes taking 3 months. Want to know when stock is coming in? Hit the notify me button on any item. Not only will this let you know automatically when items are restocked, but it also tells us that people are looking for an item, so we will make sure it's on the next restock if available.

Q: What model shows do you attend?
A: We attend ScotNats, the East Nuck Model Show, the Dundee Model Show, the St Andrews Model Railway Exhibition, the Aberdeen Scale Model Show, Scale Scotland, and Scale Model World Telford. There are others we would like to attend, but lack the time to do so.
Q: How many people work for K scale models
A: Just me, and this is not even my full-time job(yet).
3D printing questions

Q: Where do you get your files?
A: Generally, I make them. There are a few I have downloaded over the years for projects where it was just economical to buy a model and print; these will be noted as such, and links to the original creator will be given.
Q: Do you do custom work?
A: Not as a rule, this is due to time constraints, I don't feel I could
Q: I like your models, but don't want to paint them. Do you offer a painting service?
A: No, I am acaly terabule at painting models, the joke within my model club is I win the other category only due to a lack of other entries at shows. Who I can recommend for printing services is JLGunplaUK

Q: Do you offer print services
A: Yes, let me see your file, and I will print it off. Note that any files sent to me are considered a one-off print, and I will delete the files after completion of the job.
Q: I see this conversion is listed as being for X brand of kit, Will it work with Y?
A: I can’t guarantee it unless I’ve tested the kit myself. Sometimes, small modifications (like sanding or trimming connections) can make it fit, but it depends on the model.
Q: I see you make X in one scale, can you make it in another?
A: Yes, I can't always guarantee fit with a new kit, but I can easily scale parts and sometimes even a quick rework to make sure parts print.
Free models section
Q: Can I get a commercial license to print these free models?
A: No, these models are free for personal use only.
Q: A friend asked me to make one of your models, is this ok?
A: Yes, there is a distinction between selling these models as part of a store, and making one off for a friend who does not have a printer.

Q: Can I redistribute the models?
A: No. Please don’t re-upload them anywhere else.

Q: If there's a part of the site for free models, this implies there are paid models.
A: Correct, currently I am working on adding these to this site, but for now, the best place to find them is Cults3d
